Smelling the Roses

At TSS, our overall goal is health. Of course physical health, but we also think that there isn’t enough emphasis placed on taking care of ourselves mentally. With all of the bad weather this weekend, I was unfortunately involved in an accident on Friday afternoon. Thankfully, no one was hurt- but I think my car may have met its end.

Anyway, our weekend/beginning of this week has been a lot of phone calls with the insurance company, thinking about what kind of car we’ll need if this one is deemed a total loss, and acquiring a rental car.

This morning I’ve been in such a funk, and I think I’ve realized why. First, I wasn’t able to make it to the gym yet this week, and that plays a huge role with endorphins and feeling good. But I’ve also spent way too much time worrying and stressing about our vehicle situation. I decided to remind myself today of all the wonderful things I have to be thankful for this week.

My list of things to be grateful for!
My list of things to be grateful for!

I’d encourage you to try this! As women especially I think we get in our own heads sometimes. I’ve realized that I can make myself completely miserable over situations that I have absolutely no control of. Rather than taking the time to appreciate all the wonderful blessings I have, I get wrapped up in the things that aren’t perfect or “going right.” I was amazed at how much better I felt after taking the time to write down all the things I have to be grateful for. So whether it’s a list of things to be thankful for, or 20 minutes of yoga, this is my little reminder to take care of yourself mentally this week as well as physically.

Even through all the craziness this weekend, I was able to try out this recipe! Guys this broccoli cheese soup was amazing- and I am a broccoli cheese freak! Like seriously, I’m obsessed.

I love http://www.emilybites.com! Her recipes are easy to follow and everything I’ve tried has been delicious. Her motto is “lightened up comfort food”. So perfect!

So sorry I didn’t take any pics of my soup, but I promise it was delicious. Have an amazing Wednesday and remember to stop & smell the roses every once in a while!
