Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! This has been a busy week for our team. Hopefully by now you’ve seen our 1 yr. celebration giveaway! We’re so excited to give someone a brand new Fitbit! If you haven’t entered yet, pop on over to the post to figure out how and get your name in there! You don’t want to miss this! What could be better than a FREE FitBit?!

We’re sharing our FAVORITES from this week. As always we’re linking to Andrea, Narci, and Erika. Feel free to share your FAVS and link your post as well!

his past week was a busy one for the girls and I. We were in Maryland
visiting family and hanging out with friends. During our visit I was
able to get my hair done. (I refuse to get my hair done in New Jersey.
I love my hairdresser from my hometown) Goodbye roots, hello blonde! I
seriously love getting my hair done. I always feel like a new woman! I
needed this change!

My second favorite/blessing/answer to prayer is that my Brianna
received a healthy report this week at her heart checkup. When she was
8 months old she was diagnosed with VSD.* The cardiologist told us to
come back when she turned 4 to see if her heart is healing. So after
an EKG, they told us the holes are closing up and we do not have to
get another cardio checkup until she turns 8! Huge answer to prayer.
Afterwards, my husband and I asked her what she wanted to do and she
replied “Um, I could eat some mac and cheese.” So we did!

*A ventricular septal defect (VSD) is a hole in the part of the septum
that separates the ventricles (the lower chambers of the heart). The
hole allows oxygen-rich blood to flow from the left ventricle into the
right ventricle instead of flowing into the aorta and out to the body
as it should.

My first FAVORITE this week was getting my shutters painted! I’m turning into such an adult because it seriously makes my heart happy to see them looking so spruced up. The ones in the front are the before and the ones in the back are after.

They were… a little faded.

My next FAVORITE was Sam’s Club flowers. I know I say Sam’s Club all the time, lol, but seriously their fresh flowers are gorgeous. And so cheap!! Grab a dollar store vase, a $15 bunch from Sam’s, and you’ve saved yourself $40. No joke. I made both these arrangements for $20!

My next FAVORITE was checking out the pics from a girl’s photo shoot we did a few months ago. I love seeing myself surrounded by my beautiful family!

Local followers: If you’re looking for a fantastic photographer in the area, we highly recommend Rachel McKinney Photography! She does fantastic work, and homegirl can get a smile out of the most stubborn kids. She’s a miracle worker! Check out her page here: Rachel McKinney Photography.

My first FAVORITE was Girl’s Night on Friday! I love spending time with my best girls. Not pictured is my bestie Haley. Apparently I neglected to selfie with her! Sad!

My next FAVORITE was this milkshake I had at a friend’s house on Sunday night. Friends, this was a mint chip milkshake for 5. points. Yes. 5. Chickfila’s peppermint shake is 21 pts. So I was ecstatic to find this little gem. My friend follows the Trim Healthy Mama diet, and this is one one of their recipes! She shared it with me, and I can’t wait to make it on my own. It was so so good and filling! Try it yourself! Here’s the recipe. Try it out- you won’t regret it!! (We added about a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the whole mix to sweeten it a little bit. We also doubled the batch, so you could get by with just a half a scoop or less.)

My last FAVORITE this week was that I hit my halfway mark to my goal weight this week! As of Wednesday, I’m down 25 lbs from the beginning of the year! I’ve worked hard to not make this about the number on the scale, so it’s been slow going, but so worth it! Even if you make slow progress, you’re still making progress. Don’t forget that! Every healthy choice you make is adding to the lifestyle! But don’t forget to treat yourself! I haven’t deprived myself this year. I had cheat meals and holidays and wonderful times with people I love. Life is balance. Don’t overdo it and burn yourself out. I’m so excited to keep going with my goals and see where I am in another 6 months! Thank you all so much for all your support and encouragement. TSS has been a major source of motivation for me and I’m so grateful for it!
