Three friends started TSS in 2015 to motivate each other and those around us toward healthy mental, physical, and emotional lifestyle habits. Since each person’s journey is truly unique, we believe that a “healthy lifestyle” can be defined in many ways. We hope that our stories encourage you and help you grow. Melinda — New Jersey
I am a full-time mom of two wonderful toddlers and wife to a great husband. At the end of 2014, right after the birth of my second child, I resolved to lose my baby weight and make healthy choices in 2015. I started by joining Weight Watchers and set my goal to run a 10k in the Fall. Through the first half of the year, I based my happiness on the number on the scale, and I would often become discouraged when I did not lose weight as quickly or consistently as I wanted to on my weekly weigh-ins.
During my journey, I came to realize that weight is just a number. When I decided to stop weighing myself every week and stop letting the number on the scale control my happiness, I was finally able to find peace. A scale will not tell you that you are strong, beautiful, and healthy. When I learned this lesson, I understood that I will be the same on the inside no matter what the scale says.
When I decided to join Weight Watchers, I encouraged my friends, Corrinne and Jocelyn, to join me. Throughout 2015, we were able to motivate each other and give advice and encouragement to each other. We would often share tips and recipes with each other to stay on track. In July 2015, we decided to start an Instagram to share our ideas and stories with others. We think that this blog will make it easier to share with you the recipes, products, and people that motivate and inspire us.
Corrinne — Maryland
At the start of my healthy journey in 2015, I had to completely rethink the way I viewed myself and my body. I’m so excited with my new body and positive outlook. My goal is to share that outlook with everyone that needs encouragement and motivation.
It is so rewarding to set and achieve goals and to look for ways to improve your health, but it is just as important to love who you are in the moment and be proud of the steps you’ve already taken – no matter how big or small!
Every Monday, I will be posting positive, encouraging messages to help us start our week on a strong note. My second goal for 2016 is to find and share tips for staying healthy while living a crazy on-the-go lifestyle. Look for those tips and ideas to be posted anytime during the week. Jocelyn — Delaware
I’m 21, married to the sweetest guy I know, and striving to lead a healthy lifestyle. For a long time, I struggled with body image issues and insecurity, but I’ve really learned to embrace the person that I am and work to take the best care I can of her!
I’ve always been friends with some naturally thin girls. They’re awesome! Yeah, I’m definitely jealous of their ability to shotgun 30 brownies and stay thin, but that’s not who I am. I come from a long line of solid, curvy women, and I’ve learned that that is something I’ll never change. I’ll never be 5’2 and 105 lbs. But that’s
OK awesome. My goal is to lead a healthy life. To fuel my body with the right things, and to use the abilities I have to be active.
I love to cook, so every Wednesday, look for a new healthy recipe from me! I’m so excited to see where this takes us, and I hope you’ll join us!
